MSU Outdoor Adventures Fall 2017 Trip Schedule
2017 Day Trips and Clinics
Authorization classes are offered on each Thursday throughout the year. Exceptions may be necessary on university holidays and for scheduled building maintenance.
Classes begin at 6pm.
Cost: $15 per person.
Upon request, classes may be made available at other times.
Anyone interested in a trip may attend one of our Interest Meetings. There is no fee for attending these meetings and there will be no pressure to register for the following trip. We will discuss trip details and answer questions. At this point, all information may not yet be available, but we will provide you with what we have. Contact information will be collected so we can update you with new developments and answer additional questions. You may decline from submitting your contact information and may remove yourself from the trip email list at any time. Attendance to the Interest Meeting is not required to register, but is highly encouraged.
Pre-Trip Meetings will discuss the final trip details with all registered participants. It is also a great time to meet the staff and other participants. Please make every effort to attend and feel free to ask any questions. Topics may include food, lodging, necessary gear, activities and more. We may also issue gear to participants so they can properly pack before the departure day. Please let the staff know if you will not be able to attend the meeting.
Trip Departure & Return
Be sure to arrive on time for the trip, as we hope to begin by the announced time. Unless otherwise stated, we will meet in the front lobby of the Sanderson Center. Any participants who are not present by 15 minutes after the announced departure time will be left behind. Catching the van down the road or meeting the group at an alternate location is not allowed. As stated below, no refunds will be available to participants who miss a trip.
Outdoor Adventures Trip Fees & Deposits
Trip costs will be posted as soon as they are available. Gear, travel, and sleeping accommodations are included in the price of all trips.We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and cash. You may also choose to put the cost on your Mississippi State Student Account. Please speak with a staff member if you have any questions.
For most trips, a deposit of 25% of the total trip cost will be required upon registration. Unless special arrangements are made, the balance will be due by the trip's Pre-Trip Meeting. Required deposits for trips lasting over 4 days will be announced at the trip's Interest Meeting.
Outdoor Adventures Refund Policy
For most trips, you may receive a full refund, if requested, two calendar weeks (14 days) before the Pre-Trip Meeting. There are some instances in which we have to make reservations or payments for an activity earlier than two calendar weeks before the Pre-Trip Meeting. Therefore, some trips will have an earlier deadline to receive a refund.
If your refund request is made within two weeks of the Pre-Trip Meeting, you may receive any fees paid, minus the 50% deposit, minus reservation fees, and minus activity fees Outdoor Adventures has to incur for the trip.
Reservation fees may include: campgrounds, shelters, cabins, hotels, hostels, van rentals, bus rentals, boat rentals, or plane ticket. No refunds will be issued within one calendar week of the trip, after the Pre-Trip meeting, or for participants who fail to show up for the departure.
To request a refund or to withdraw from a trip, please contact Outdoor Adventures as soon as possible. Please email or leave a voicemail if the office is closed or if you are unable to speak with a staff person by phone.
